We looked at our local chronic dialysis population and compared clinical information between those which chose to withdraw from dialysis and those who withdrew for medical reasons. The aim was to identify clinical parameters which could be used to identify those patients in a position to choose when they wish to withdraw from dialysis as part of their end of life planning process.
