FAQs

SECTION 1: GUIDELINES ON FONT SIZES AND LAYOUT

i) USE OF PRE-DESIGNED TEMPLATES
Use of our templates is not mandatory. Presenters are free to submit
their own designs and colour schemes. However, we do require that the
poster is 1 slide only of either PowerPoint or (new) PDF, with the page
set up as follows:
Width (cm): 90
Height (cm): 130

ii) SECTIONS
As a general rule, the following sections should normally appear:
- Poster title
- 1st author and other authors with study centre or institution
- Introduction and objectives
- Methods
- Results and Conclusions
- References / Bibliography

These sections should be set out in clearly differentiated blocks.

iii) FONT SIZES
Title: We recommend betweeen 80 and 100 pt, although if you have a long
title, you may find you need to use a slightly smaller font size.

Authors and institutions: The institutions the authors belong to should
be stated, indicating also Department and Unit. We recommend betweeen 30
and 36 pt. Again, you may need to go below 30 pt if you have a longer
text.

Main text: We recommend 36 - 40 pt, although 32 pt or even 28 pt could be
used in isolated areas, or if you have a very large amount of text. You
should use dark text colours on a light background, or vice versa.

References / Bibliography: We recommend 24 - 30 pt.

iv) OTHER CONSIDERATIONS
Cutting and pasting images doubles their size. We recommend that you use:
either Insert Image From File (earlier versions of PowerPoint) or Insert
Image (PowerPoint 2007-2010). To submit your poster, click on Upload
Poster, enter the first author’s surname, select your poster number and
then complete the form. Poster submissions will only be accepted via our
website and not by e-mail. Please check your poster carefully before
submitting. If you wish to view the poster file or make modifications
after submission, please visit the MANAGE ORDERS section of our website.
Once the poster has been printed, we regret that any modifications will
have to be charged for. If you have any queries, please contact us for
help.

v) LOWER BAND
For all posters ordered, the PosterSessionOnline Technical Department
adds a discreet band at the bottom, measuring 4 cm, containing:
1. The poster number.
2. The topic and 1st Author.
3. The congress logo.
4. The PosterSessionOnline logo.

SECTION 2: FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is the cost of the service?
The PrintingOnline and delivery service is free of charge for all
posters, thanks to a grant from Takeda Pharmaceuticals Europe Ltd.
Collect your poster on-site from the Takeda Hospitality Suite, on-site at
the Istanbul Congress Center, at your convenience during the meeting.

What is the production quality of the poster produced?
The poster is available with 4-colour printing on 200g/m2 photographic
paper; size 90x130 cm.

How will the poster be checked?
The layout (but not scientific content) is checked via 6 quality control
assessments assuring 100% accuracy.

I have already produced a PDF or other format. What can I do?
We accept posters in PDF format, as long as the dimensions are correct
(90 x 130cm vertical). If you have produced a poster with other desktop
publishing software, please produce a PDF and submit it. Please contact
us if you need further help.

What consideration has been made with respect to referencing?
All posters will be given a Digital Object Identifier number (DOI), which
allows referencing in future work including abstracts, CVs, journals etc.
Look for the DOI code on the lower band on your poster.

I do not wish to publish my poster online. What can I do?
If for any reason you do not wish your poster to be displayed online, or
you wish to display it at a later date, please let us know by phone or e-
mail.
