Hi Sara! Interesting idea. I am curious to know what species would decrease or increase in abundance, and whether there is any evolutionary basis for some of the species to be more succesful than others.

Hi Josep! Thanks for your question. Examples of species that are predicted to suffer larger potential increases are Quercus virginiana, Populus tremuloides, Thuja plicata, Abies grandis, Abies concolor or Pinus contorta. On the other hand, examples of species that are predicted to suffer larger potential increases are Ulmus rubra, Sassafras albidum, Salix nigra, Robinia pseudoacacia, Quercus velutina. We are planning to include results at species level in our paper :)
It will definetely be interesting to understand the evolutionary basis and the functional traits that determine the probabilities of sucess in front of the climate change challengue. We aim to work on that soon!
